WILSON JERMAINE HEREDIA (Angel) made his Broadway debut in Rent for which he received the 1996 Tony and Drama Desk Awards for Best Featured Actor in a Musical and an Obie Award. Raised in Brooklyn, he previously starred in Elizabeth Swados’ The New Americans for which he composed the song No Es Asi. He also appeared in Popol Vuh at Lincoln Center, Intar, and on tour, and The Tower (Danny Kaye Theatre). He danced (and was a choreographer for) several music videos including Joli and Josue de Jesus. He can be seen in the upcoming film, "Flawless." He thanks London for making him feel at home, and his true love for always being there. He dedicates his performance to his family and to Jonathan Larson.

Recently Wilson re-created this role in the original London production of Rent where he garnered an Olivier nomination for Best Featured Actor in a Musical, starred opposite Robert DeNiro in the soon-to-be released feature film "Flawless" and appeared in the musical Quark Victory for the Williamstown Theatre Festival. WILSON JERMAINE HEREDIA plays Cha Cha, the fearless rollerblading drag queen. Heredia won the Tony Award and the Drama Desk Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical for his role as "Angel" in Jonathan Larson’s Pulitzer Prize-winning "Rent." He then reprised his role in the London production of "Rent," for which he was nominated for an Olivier Award.
Raised in Brooklyn, Heredia’s theater work includes Elizabeth Swados’ "The New Americans," for which he also composed the song "No Es Asi." He also appeared in "Popol Vuh" at Lincoln Center and in "The Tower" at the Danny Kaye Theater before making his Broadway debut in "Rent."
